AirKiosk System User Scoops Customer Satisfaction Award
UK low-fare airline Jet2.com was voted "Best European Short-Haul Airline" by
readers of the Guardian and Observer newspapers, in competition with other
low cost airlines and national carriers like BA, Lufthansa and Air
France/KLM. Jet2.com was lauded for exemplary service at low fares during
the Travel Awards 2006 ceremony in South Africa.
Jet2.com has used the AirKiosk system since its start of operations and was
the first airline to introduce several AirKiosk system customer service
innovations, including the AirKiosk Low Fare Finder (May 2003), online
wheelchair booking (March 2006), and DepartureKiosk online check-in
(September 2006).
Launched in February 2003 with flights from Leeds Bradford Airport, Jet2.com
now flies from six bases to 38 destinations across Europe. On winning the
award, Jet2.com Chairman Philip Meeson said "we have fought off every
European flag carrier and so called 'low cost' airline across the continent
– an accolade indeed and confirmation Jet2.com can deliver the lowest fares
and highest level of service."
The Guardian/Observer/Guardian Unlimited Travel Awards are the most
established consumer travel awards in Britain, now celebrating their 20th
year. More than 15,000 readers were invited to participate in the extensive
survey, rating the companies they have travelled with and the cities and
countries they visited.
